[News] Winners of The Oscars 2012

Time has come for the biggest post of the year. Or at least the most important one. The results of the Oscars 2012. Who took the most prizes this year? Click Read More to see the full winner list!

It wasn't really a surprise when The Artist took most of the prices in this year's Oscars, the 84th edition, which took place in Los Angeles. The film won five Oscars, including Best Film and Best Director. The star of this movie, Jean Dujardin, won the main price Best Actor. The Artist is a deaf black and white movie about a star from the era of the silent movie who sees his career falling apart when sound movies get introduced.

The other big winner was Martin Scorcese's Hugo, the movie about an orphan living between the walls of the Paris train station. They collected 5 oscars in total, but there weren't any big prices. They mainly won technical prizes, like Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, etc.

Best Actress (surprisingly) went to Meryl Streep for her role as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. It was a suprise, because most people expected Viola Davis to win for her role in The Help.
